The Veiled Rebecca |
Created by Italian sculptor Giovanni Maria Benzoni, The Veiled Rebecca at the High Museum of Art is one of four in the world, a surprise to me given the technical genius it took to create a transparent veil in white marble ... amazing and brilliant!
Part of the High's permanent collection of European Art, the 19th Century statue is on display in the Stent Family Wing, the portion of the museum closest to Peachtree Street.
ATLANTApix of the tourATLANTA blog features a "photo-of-the-day" of Atlanta. Come back tomorrow for a new one!

What an amazing sculpture! Maybe High Museum of Art will join in the Google Art Project and we can all get a closer look.
You have to see the one at the Salarjung Museum, Hyderabad, India. That too is beautiful.
I just fell in love with The Veiled Lady in the Detroit Institute of Arts. Fascinating!
