ATLANTApix: Orchid Daze

Have you been to Orchid Daze yet? The Atlanta Botanical Garden is bustling with activity and is about to get a lot busier when its 240,000 tulips start blooming, part of their Atlanta Blooms! exhibition.

The two separate exhibitions will overlap for a short period of time giving an absolutely breathtaking display of color througout the Garden. The Garden is always filled with color, even in the winter, but I'm personally looking forward to this time of year.

Ever since hearing the story of when I was a child and I picked my grandmother's only surviving tulip following a late frost, but was quickly forgiven when I innocently presented it, tulips have been my favorite flower. So to be surrounded by so many will be a great way to honor my grandmother's memory...I'm looking foward to it.

Orchid Daze is on display through Sunday, April 10, 2011 and Atlanta Blooms! will run from Tuesday, March 22 through Sunday, May 1, 2011.

ATLANTApix of the tourATLANTA blog features a "photo-of-the-day" of Atlanta. Come back tomorrow for a new one!
