Tulips Cover Photo

The bulbs are up all over Atlanta! These I shot just a few days ago, but don't worry, you're not missing the peak of tulips in Atlanta...you're going to see this all over town very soon! These were in a walled area where it's warmer, so they came up just a little bit early.

Cover: Zoo's Playful Orangutan

This is one of my all-time favorite Atlanta photographs...orangutans are so much fun! They're not gregarious creatures, but they're subtly fascinating. I guess also I'm influenced by having seen "Every Which Way But Loose" starring Clint Eastwood when I was young, which co-starred an orangutan AND the movie had scenes in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, which was near one of my high schools.

Zoo Atlanta has consistently been a great visit, whether with friends from out-of-town or on my own to make photos (this photo was made while on a solitary photo excursion). 

With a history of more than 120 years (growing from a circus animal rescue effort), being one of the few zoos in the United States to host Pandas, and new babies all the time (Sumatran orangutan Blaze is expecting!), there's a LOT to discover here!

Cover: Turner Field

Time for another Facebook Cover Photo! This one is of gigantic baseballs that line the plaza immediately in front of Turner Field...the field that was converted from our 1996 Centennial Olympic Stadium to Turner Field—Home of the Atlanta Braves.

The conversion was brilliant! Unlike so many other cities that host the Olympic Games, we didn't end up with a multi-million dollar stadium sitting unused because no one could fill it. Instead, the converted stadium is regularly packed out for home games and often used for charity walks and other activities.

And they give a fantastic behind-the-scenes tour, which includes visits to the Atlanta Braves Museum & Hall of Fame, press box, locker room, dugout, and even onto the field!

Often on Friday night home games, they'll have a post-game fireworks display. But I'll save that for another Cover Photo.
